What RBS wanted from the Concorde Experience

An afternoon event to make a short presentation and demonstrate various services to loyal investors. RBS were keen to show their guests that the very high standards of service that Concorde represented was very much a factor with RBS.

How it worked
Pre-event, each guest was sent a personally named Concorde Experience boarding pass overprinted with the RBS logo. This stated the time they were to arrive as they were being split into three groups. Each group arrived at half an hour intervals. On arrival each guest was 'checked-in', given a name badge and offered tea and coffee in the marquee alongside Concorde. This was dressed to resemble a VIP departure lounge but also had a number of service desks at which guests could enquire about the various premium services that were being offered by the RBS Group.

RBS used the low level fence around Concorde to hang advertising banners. A short briefing of the day's event was given before being escorted to the DC-10 seminar suite. Here they were greeted by the Concorde Experience stewardess and offered a glass of Champagne before taking their seats to watch a short nostalgic video presentation about Concorde. This was followed by a short power point presentation by an RBS Director using the built in video screen. Another short Concorde film was shown to build the anticipation before boarding the real aircraft.

They were then escorted to Concorde and given a facts and figures tour around the outside of the aircraft before boarding for a further presentation about the aircraft and who flew on her. On their way out each had the opportunity of having their photo taken in front of Concorde. It was then back to the marquee to enjoy a canapé reception, the menu of which was a
re-creation of that served on board Concorde when in flying service.

What RBS achieved
Over 90% attendance, and total customer retention.
